The trailer of Why Cheat India, the film that is being directed by Soumik Sen, has finally hit the net and boy this one is super unimpressive.
Starring Emraan Hashmi this two and half minute trailer very clearly reminds us of Ranjit Singh, whose stories of settings in the premier institutions in the early 2000’s had shaken the entire Indian education system.
The trailer gives a sneak peek into how the exam centres are managed in order to get the favoured candidates selected in any particular competitive exam.
This film highlights the scams carried out during the entrance exams for various fields like engineering, banking, management, UPSC and others.
At one point in the trailer, a well-off parent is even willing to offer as much as Rs. 15 lakh for someone else to fill in for his child and clear the test. Well, it’s really sad, but in real life, we have such parents.
Emraan Hashmi looks convincing as a businessman who only knows the art of making money who is not at all ashamed of what he is doing and takes immense pride in his so-called business. The one-liners in this trailer are to die for.
According to the actor, this film is the most riveting stories he has read in a while and is thrilled to be essaying what he believes will be a landmark role in his filmography.
All in all, Why Cheat India looks like a very think plot which may not be an engaging film. I am so not looking forward to this one.
With this film, Emraan Hashmi has turned producer and has joined hands with Bhushan Kumar‘s T-Series, Atul Kasbekar, and Tanuj Garg to produce the film.
Apart from Emraan Hashmi, the film also marks the debut of Shreya Dhanwanthary. Previous Shreay has been part of web series like The Girl In Me, Ladies Room, and The Reunion.
Why Cheat India will hit the screens on January 25, 2019.
