URI: The Surgical Strike trailer has finally hit the net and boy this one is rock solid. Starring Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam and Paresh Rawal, URI: The Surgical Strike is based on the 2016 surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army in retaliation to an alleged terror attack in the Kashmir region of URI.
The trailer begins by setting up the scenario: “On 18 September 2016, 19 unarmed Indian soldiers were martyred at Uri base came, Kashmir,” reads the title. This intense trailer gives us an insight into the attack, carried out by terrorists on the 12 Infantry Headquarters in URI, that left 19 soldiers dead on September 18, 2016.
Eleven days post the attack, the Indian government conducted a top-secret surgical strike across the border and killed around 40 terrorists, thus giving the attackers a befitting reply.
We also get to meet Yami Gautam who plays an intelligence officer and she is seen interrogating a terror suspect. We then see a montage in which Vicky trains his chosen team for the operation, and delivers a rousing speech.
“I am training for five hours every day. Then there are three to four hours of military training, you get to enhance your stamina, go through obstacle training, you are slithering. I am receiving gun training right now,” stated Vicky Kaushal.
The first teaser of URI: The Surgical Strike, was released on the second anniversary of the military operation, which is being commemorated as Parakram Parv.
This is the story of what happened in those eleven days and has been inspired by the true-life incident. All in all, this trailer is hard hitting and I am really looking forward to this one especially for Vicky Kaushal how is terrific.
