The trailer of Salman Khan Films, Notebook, starring Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal, has just hit the net. The trailer of Notebook is almost a copy of Nithiwat Tharatorn The Teacher’s Diary (2014).

The Teacher’s Diary was selected as the Thai entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards but was not nominated.

Notebook revolves around a small town in Kashmir, where Firdaus (Pranutan Bahl), a school teacher, teaches some students. She later has to choose marriage over the students and after her exit, Kabir (Zaheer Iqbal) takes over as the teacher of the school. As Kabir bonds with students, he also finds an old notebook of Firdaus and after going through it, he eventually falls in love with her although he has never seen her.

Just from your information, Pranutan is the daughter of actors Mohnish Bahl and Aarti Bahl. Salman and Mohnish Bahl have worked together in films like Maine Pyaar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), and Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999). On the other hand, Zaheer Iqbal is Salman’s friend Iqbal’s son.

For me there and two highlights about the trailer of Notebook, one is the picturesque Kashmir and secondly, the cute seven kids who are an integral part of the narrative. Both Pranutan and Zaheer look good, but we need to see the entire film to judge their talent. The film also has a reprised version of Bumbro from the film Mission Kashmir (2000) and thankfully the makers have not messed the song up.

All in all, Notebook looks stunning as it’s set in Kashmir. I have seen The Treacher’s Diary and I am sure this one too will make you fall in love.

Directed by National Award Nitin Kakkar, Notebook has been produced by Salman Khan and is set to for a March 29, 2019, release.
