Trailer Review: Jalebi – Varun Mitra Is A Star To Look Forward To

The trailer of Jalebi: The Everlasting Taste of Love, starring Rhea Chakraborty, debutant Varun Mitra, and Digangana Suryavanshi, has just hit the net, and I must say that Varun is a star to looking forward to.

This Jalebi trailer is all about Ayesha (Rhea Chakraborty) and Dev (Varun Mitra). While Dev is a guide, Ayesha is a copywriter. Both fall in love, but their struggle starts right after the marriage.

While Aisha belongs to a modern generation and is sort of a workaholic, she is tired of staying at home after marriage with Varun and wishes to move to the city for a better future. Meanwhile, Varun refuses to leave his family. Set in Delhi, Jabeli deals with the relationship v/s career dilemma.

Ayesh walks out on her marriage, only to meet Dev once again, but she is in for a rude shock when she gets to know that Dev has re-married. Oops!! Now that’s so sad!!

As expected, this Mahesh Bhatt and Vishesh Films Production has melodies to die for. The song that plays almost throughout this trailer has been sung by Jubin Nautiyal, and it instantly caught my attention.

However, it’s the actor Varun Mitra who has caught my eye. He is extremely natural and has a terrific screen presence. Guess, post the release of this film, he will be a start to reckon with.

Jalebi ran into controversy last week when social media sleuths noticed that the poster for the film is inspired by the iconic Korean War Goodbye Kiss, captured by the Los Angeles Times photographer Frank Brown in 1950.

Directed by Pushpdeep Bhardwaj, and produced by Vishesh Films, Jalebi: The Everlasting Taste of Love is touted to be a love story that begins after the happily ever after. This film is all set to hit the screens on October 12. 2018.
