Trailer Review: Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga – It’s Charming, Complexed And Different

It’s cute, it has some wow moments and it’s simple yet complexed, well, I am talking about the trailer of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga that has just hit the net.

The trailer begins with Sahir Mirza (Rajkummar Rao) as the narrator of a play. He recites the story of the time he fell in love with a girl.

We then get to meet Sweety Chaudhary (Sonam Kapoor) as a typical girl child dreaming about a fairytale love story and how she will fall in love with someone and marry him.

As she grows old, things become more real. As expected, Sweety’s father, Balbir Chaudhary (Anil Kapoor) wants his daughter to marry and settle down.

In all of this, we get to meet the ever so charming Chatro (Juhi Chawla), Sweety’s grandmother, Madhumalti Kapoor, and her brother. Now Balbir thinks Sahir is the man of Sweety’s dreams, her grandmother seeks help from a matrimonial site, while Sweety’s brother thinks his friend will be a suitable match for her sister.

However, Sonam rejects all the three suitors and has a different plan for herself. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga majorly revolves around a girl falling in love with another girl – the first film, a bold move indeed, after the Supreme Court decriminalised homosexuality by ruling out Section 377.

All in all, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is simple, sweet, and complex at the same time. I am sure this film will have tons of complexities and will be laced with loads of humour. Also, seeing Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor sharing screen space for the first time will surely be a treat. I am so looking forward to this one.

Directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, the film stars Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Brijendra Kala, Seema Pahwa, Regina Cassandra, and Madhumalti Kapoor.

The film is set for a February 01, 2019 release.
