Finally, the cat is out of the bag, as the film PM Narendra Modi will now release on April 11, 2019. The film’s producer Sandip Ssingh tweeted and made the date official.
“PM Narendra Modi is officially releasing on 11th April 2019.” read Sandip’s tweet.
Vivek Oberoi, who is playing the titular role in PM Narendra Modi, a biopic on the current Indian Prime Minister, stated that the team of the film wanted to release it on April 05, 2019, but couldn’t do it because of the obstacles thrown at them.
“We wanted to release the film on April 5 but some people put us in so many difficulties that we couldn’t do it. We are working hard to get the film released on April 11, 2019, we have to go to the Supreme Court on Monday. There are very powerful people who have approached courts through their lawyers. They can obstruct us briefly but they won’t be able to stop us. The release might have been postponed but we are firm in our resolve.” stated Vivek during his media interaction.
Vivek Oberoi also tweeted: “Thank you to each and every one of you for your blessings, love and support. Thank you to the Indian judiciary. We hope you like the film and that it inspires you all! Jai Hind.”
Directed by Omung Kumar, PM Narendra Modi has been criticised by the opposition parties, who claim that the biopic could give undue advantage to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the polls as it will arrive in theatres before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The seven-phase polls will begin on April 11, 2019, and continue till May 2019.
PM Narendra Modi narrates the story of Modi from his humble beginnings to becoming the Prime Minister. The film stars Vivek Oberoi, Manoj Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, Boman Irani, Barkha Bisht, Zarina Wahab, Prashant Narayanan, and Akshat R. Saluja.
Produced by Sandip Ssingh, Suresh Oberoi, and Anand Pandit, the film is set to release on April 05, 2019 in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
