January 06, 2019, the 12th episode of Koffee With Karan Season 06 when on air and as they say the rest is history. This one was one of the most talked about and controversial episode till date, and yes, it messed up a lot of things.

Soon both Hardik Pandya and K. L. Rahul were suspended and ordered to return home from the tour of Australia after their sexist comments shocked India. Harbhajan Singh blasted the duo and he stated that both Hardik and Rahul have tarnished the reputation of the Indian cricketing fraternity. Harbhajan even went on to state that he would not want to be travel in the same team bus with either Hardik or Rahul.

With all this being said or heard, Karan Johar, as he too came under the scanner.  However, Karan is now relieved and grateful that the suspension on both the cricketers has been lifted by the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (COA).

“I am so happy to hear that the ban has been lifted. I am so relieved and grateful. They deserved another chance. I am glad that the Board has given them this chance,” Johar, the man who conducted the controversial interview.

Karan feels that the episode featuring Hardik Pandya and K. L. Rahl was as per the frivolous nature of the show. He thought that both the cricketers were conforming to the prerequisites of the show Karan did not think that what they said could catapult into such a huge issue.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya too had apologised for his misogynistic comments on the show, stressing on the fact that upon reflection he did feel apologetic towards the things he said. “After reflecting on my comments on Koffee With Karan, I would like to apologize to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respect,” the cricketer had said.
