The first footage from the season finale, Season 8, of Game Of Thrones is finally out. Yes, you got that right as HBO on Monday, August 27, 2018, tweeted the trailer for its 2019 lineup.

The one minute and thirty-second video had, besides footage from both the previous season of Game of Thrones and a quick glimpse of the highly anticipated Season 8. The new footage buried amid a lot of shots of Season 7.

The clip shows Jon Snow (Kit Harington) hugging Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) implying their much-awaited union at the characters home at Winterfell. You can even catch Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep in scenes from Big Little Lies and a look at Bill Hader in Barry. We get another look at Mahershala Ali in the third season of True Detective and also get a glimpse of Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the new season of Veep.

As expected fans have been going ballistic over this clip. Everyone seems excited as well as sad, excited because Season 8 is set to premiere and sad because of the fact that this could be the last season.

Game of Thrones returns for its final six episodes that will air during the first half of 2019. There have been reports over the weekend claiming the show’s return has been delayed to mid-2019 making not eligible for Emmys until 2020.

Rest assured, the first half of 2019 means exactly that, and HBO expects the show will air all its episodes in time for the 2019 Emmy eligibility cut off.

The show was originally scheduled for some time in the first few months of 2019 but visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer recently has stated that work on Season 8 has just begun and it will take eight to night months before the show goes on air, which means fans will have to wait till around May of 2019 to see these episodes.
