Total Dhamaal is the third instalment in the Dhamaal franchise and is all about a hidden booty of 50 crore which leads to a mad chase amongst a bunch of greedy characters. What happens to them and do they end up finding the monies is what this film is all about.
We get to meet Guddu (Ajay Devgn), Prachi (Esha Gupta), Bindu Patel (Madhuri Dixit), Avinash Patel (Anil Kapoor), Aditya Shrivastav (Arshad Warsi), Manav Shrivastav (Javed Jaffrey), Lallan (Riteish Deshmukh), Chinappa Swamy (Mahesh Manjrekar), Jonny (Sanjay Mishra), and many more. All of them want money. In all of this, we also meet the Police Commissioner (Boman Irani) who is behind them.
Amidst all the madness, we have Jackie Shroff‘s voiceover as the guiding voice of GPS navigating Guddu and Jonny to where the money is. Now, this according to me is the highlight of the entire film as its fun and will surely crack you up.
Directed Indra Kumar, Total Dhamaal has all the ingredients of a potboiler. There is a huge star cast, songs, locations, action and loads of adventure. You have trains ramming into cars, falling bridges, choppers all over if this was not enough wild animals. All this is more is laced with comedy punches and I am sure this one will entertain.
What’s disappointing is the fact that with such a talented team, both in front as well as behind the camera, there is no story to this one. Yes, the first half is a laugh riot, but the second half to me is all over the place. Two classics, Mungda Mungda from the film Inkaar (1977) and Paisa Yeh Paisa from the film Karz (1980) have been brutally massacred.
All in all, do watch Total Dhamaal but Dare not look for logic because if you do, then you will be disappointed as there is none.
