Dhanush is on the verge of wrapping up Gautham Menon’s Enai Noki Paayum Thota is now set to reunite with producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, who had recently bankrolled VIP 2.
Enai Noki Paayum Thota has been on the floors for a very long time. The industry grapevine is that the project was on the back burner for a few months as producer Madan, who had bankrolled Dhanush’s Kodi, hadn’t cleared his remuneration for a long time and the latter had given up on the project.
The film will be wrapped up by this month-end and the makers are looking at a September release. Tipped to be a campus-based action drama, the film has music by Darbuka Siva whose identity was kept a secret for a long time. The makers promoted him as MR.X to create curiosity amongst fans. The idea paid off as the songs were extremely well received.
Coming by to Dhanush’s next with Thanu, well, if the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Dhanush and Kalaipuli S Thanu will join hands for a new project later this year. Not long ago, reports emerged that producer Kalaipuli S Thanu had acquired the Tamil remake rights of Telugu film Needi Naadi Oke Katha and had plans to make it with Dhanush.
In the film, Sree Vishnu plays an incapable son who can’t live up to the expectations of his father and the society. Without taking the commercial route, the film managed to make an impact thanks to its highly relatable story and earnest performances, especially by Sree Vishnu.
While sources close to the superstar have rubbished these reports, there’s still no official verification from either Dhanush or Kalaipuli S Thanu regarding the remake.
On the career front, as Dhanush currently awaits the release of Vada Chennai, Maari 2 and his maiden Hollywood film The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir. He will be traveling to Melbourne, where the film is set to have its Victorian premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
