Karan Johar has become the first Indian film-maker to have a wax statue at Madame Tussauds Singapore. He unveiled the wax statue with his mother Hiroo Johar. Both Hiroo and Karan looked elated as they posed with Karan Johar's wax statue.
"Waxed!! At Singapore Madame Tussauds! What fun with my mom Hiroo Johar and my family! Anushka Khanna Priyanka Khanna, Masi Payal and my surprise from friends who are too shy to be named!" wrote Karan in an Instagram post that features a series of pictures from the event.
As expected, Karan's wax statue features him in his classic pose, the one where he can be seen clicking a selfie. Donning a black velvet coat, the wax statue looks as stunning and fabulous as the director himself. While talking about his wax statue, Karan Johar said that it is a very special gift for his twins Roohi and Yash and his mom Hiroo Johar. The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director added that he used to visit Madame Tussauds with his father Yash Johar as an 08-year-old and he remembered how he felt at that time.
"I feel like a childhood dream has been realised today as my statue will be a part of this prestigious museum. I am absolutely excited and honoured," stated Karan.
Earlier back in 2000's, there used to be selective stars from Bollywood, who used to make the cut. Actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan were the Bollywood faces at Madame Tussauds and Indians used to look forward to visiting the Bollywood arena in London.
In fact, Mr. Bachacha was the first male Bollywood celebrity to make to the Madame Tussauds, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the first female Bollywood celebrity to have her statue in the museum. Prior to Karan Johar, stars like Kajol, Diljit Dosanjh, Mahesh Babu, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Sunny Leone have all become a part of the Madame Tussauds family as the wax figures.
