Sanjay Gupta is set to team up with John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, and Amole Gupte for Mumbai Saga.
Yes, you got this right!! After completing about 25 years in Bollywood, Sanjay Gupta is back with yet another gangster-drama. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mumbai Saga is set in the 1980s-1990s and revolves around all that went into transforming Bombay into Mumbai.
As Sanjay's trademark, this film will also be technically brilliant and will be laced with loads of action. However, the females leads in the film are yet not known.
Sanjay Gupta, who is known for his films like Kaante (2002), Musafir (2004), Zinda (2006), Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007), Jazbaa (2015) and Kaabil (2017), said his upcoming directorial is his most ambitious project till date.
"25 years, 17 films later I had to give my audience something bigger and better. Mumbai Saga is by far my most ambitious film which needed a visionary producer. And I am grateful to Bhushan Kumar for putting his faith and might in it. It is one such story that needs to be said on screen," Gupta said in a statement.
On the other hand, Bhushan Kumar is excited to team up and with Sanjay and is looking forward to producing his first every gangster film.
"Mumbai Saga is our first in the gangster drama genre and who better than Sanjay to direct it. The film is inspired by true events yet makes the characters so larger than life. The entire cast will bring so much to the table," stated Bhushan.
Mumbai Saga is set to go on floors next month and is likely to release in 2020, the exact release date has not been revealed. Gulshan Kumar presents, T-Series and White Feather Films Production, Mumbai Saga, is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Anuradha Gupta.
