It's fun, it's a story that almost every child has grown up hearing and it has Will Smith essaying the role of a Genie, well, I am talking about the trailer of Disney's Aladdin, which has just hit the net.
Disney's live-action remake of Aladdin is based on the 1992 animated classic. The trailer is full of fun, breathtaking animations and visual effects and a Genie, which I am sure most of us will fall in love with.
Contrary to earlier teasers, it appears that Will Smith isn't going to be covered in blue makeup throughout the film. Genie actually switches off between being a blue giant and a normal human.
We also get to hear the first snippet of the actor performing Friend Like Me, Genie's trademark song, which was brilliantly performed in the first film by the late Robin Williams.
A thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney's animated classic, Aladdin is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, Aladdin is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney's Aladdin.
The film stars Will Smith as the Genie; Mena Massoud as Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar; Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, and Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders.
Eight-time Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken provides the score, which includes new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Oscar-winning lyricists Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.
All in all, Disney's Aladdin would be worth a watch and it almost looks picture perfect. Aladdin hits theatres on May 24, 2019.
