Vivek Oberoi is all set to essay the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his biopic. The first look of the film, titled PM Narendra Modi, will be out on January 07, 2019.
The poster of the film will reportedly be released in 23 different languages and will be unveiled by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
PM Narendra Modi, is being helmed by Omung Kumar who has previously directed films like Sarbjit and Mary Kom. The film will go on floors in mid-January.
"Sandip Ssingh, producer and Vivek came up with the idea of roping in the CM for the unveiling. When the makers approached him, he readily agreed. The event is scheduled to take place at the Garware Club House in South Mumbai. Apart from Vivek's look, makers are also expected to announce the release date of the film," stated a source from the production team.
The team has been working on this biopic for three years. It was then reported that Paresh Rawal was going to play the central lead in this biopic, but now Vivek has stepped in.
PM Narendra Modi will be shot extensively across different parts of the country. From Narendra Modi's hometown in Gujarat to Delhi, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
"The team acquired the necessary permissions to go forth with the film only a few weeks ago. Vivek has been working on his distinct looks and will be part of extensive workshops. A big chunk of the film will be shot in Gujarat, apart from other states", the source added.
PM Narendra Modi has been in the works for three years. The producer-director duo of Sandip Ssingh and Omung Kumar have previously collaborated on Sarbjit (2016) which starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vivek was last seen in a Tamil film Vivegam (2017). He would next be seen in the Malayalam movie Lucifer and Vinaya Vidheya Rama, which is a Telugu movie. He has also been a celebrity judge for India's Best Dramebaaz on Zee TV.
