Aftab Singh, a 12-year-old boy from Deep Singh Wala village of Faridkot, managed to defeat Diwakar Sharma and Sanjay Satheesh to become the winner of winner Rising Star Season 3.
Aftab, who was youngest among other three finalists, took home the Rising Star trophy and Rs 10 lakh, while Diwakar Sharma was declared the first runner-up and was awarded Rs 5 lakh.
Being a Salman Khan fan, Aftab wants to sing for the Bharat star. "I am on cloud nine. I didn't even expect to be one of the finalists. It's like a dream come true. This win means a lot to me. "It will now motivate me to do more hard-work so that I get a chance to work in films and sing for Salman Khan one day". stated an elated Aftab.
For Aftab, his father has been the driving force and his family is his strength. "My father is my inspiration. He has struggled a lot in his life. I don't belong to a rich family. I have seen my father's hard work. He has done a lot to make me reach this platform. It's not my win, It's his win," added Aftab.
Earlier in 2017, Aftab, 10, had given an audition for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs (Zee TV) and was among the top seven finalists. He had also appeared on Music Ki Pathshala on And TV. In Rising Star 3, Aftab bagged more than 90 per cent votes from the live audience in all episodes.
The singing reality show aired for nearly three months. It premiered on March 16, 2019, and was hosted by Aditya Narayan. Shankar Mahadevan, Neeti Mohan and Diljit Dosanjh were the judges on the show.
We would like to wish Aftab all the very best for a great musical journey ahead.
