After the super success of Happy Bhag Jayegi, Anand L. Rai and Eros International have once again teamed up for Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. The trailer of the sequel, which features Sonakshi Sinha, Diana Penty, Jimmy Sheirgill, Jassie Gill, Ali Fazal, Aparshakti Khurana, Jason Tham, Bijou Thaangjam and Piyush Mishra, has just hit the net.

While in the first film, the titular character accidentally lands up in Pakistan, when trying to elope, the second movie is set somewhere in Bangkok. Sonakshi Sinha and Jassie Gill are the two new additions in the sequel.

"I have always admired Sonakshi and it's like a dream come true to share screen space with her. I'm really happy and proud to be associated with Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. Mudassar sir has made a fantastic film and this one is crazier than the first instalment." states Jassie who is elated to be a part of this one.

The trailer clearly indicates that there are two women in question, both Happy and the confusion that they will bring along with them. This sequel takes off from its prequel, Happy Bhag Jayegi, where Diana's character had run away from her wedding, only to land up in Pakistan and subsequently meeting Abhay Deol.

This time, instead of Lahore, a major part of the film takes place in China. The trailer shows Sonakshi Sinha being abducted by Chinese goons. She continually tries to tell them as well as others in the film that she isn't the Happy they're looking for, referring to Diana's character from the previous film.

The trailer depicts all the confusion that the first instalments came to be known for, with Jimmy Sheirgill and Piyush Mishra reprising their roles. We start off with Chinese goons, then there's a wedding, some Chinese-Hindi translation thrown in for good measure and a lot of cases of mistaken identity.

While Happy Bhag Jayegi (2016), turned out to be a sleeper hit, let's wait and watch what Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has in store for us, though I see little hope for this one.

Director Mudassar Aziz returns with the film, and so do the co-producers Krishika Lulla and Anand L. Rai. Produced by Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is set for an August 24, 2018 release.
