March 08, 2018, on International Women's Day, the makers of Kalank have released the fourth poster, which has Alia Bhatt as a stunning bride Roop.

Alia Bhatt has become an undisputed Box Office queen with films likes Raazi (2018) and the very recent Gully Boy (2019), is looking forward Kalank and feels that Roop is a unique character that she has played.

"A character unlike any other I have played! Presenting Roop!" Alia Bhatt shared the poster in which she is dressed as a bride, while Karan Johar wrote, "To love her is to love fire. Presenting Roop!"

Karan Johar, who is co-producing this film with Sajid Nadiadwala, in his Wednesday post had written that Kalank was filming that was born in his heart and mind 15 years ago. A film he passionately believes in and this is the last film his father, Yash Johar and he worked on before he left him.

Alia and Varun have previously worked together in their debut movie Student Of The Year (2012), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017); Kalank is their fourth movie together.

Speaking about working with Alia on Kalank, Varun wrote in an Instagram post, "It's my fourth film with Alia Bhatt. Wow, and it always feels like it's new. She is amazing in the film but one thing she has done great is run very well, and I am proud of her. Lol. She knows she is my favourite but Shanaya, Kavya, Vaidehi and wait for it, you guys are going to be as blown away as I was by her. All our fans, we work damn hard just to make sure we don?t let you down and hope we don't."

Besides Alia Bhatt, the film also stars Varan Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, and others. Madhuri Dixit was signed for Kalank after Sridevi's death, who was originally supposed to star opposite Sanjay Dutt.

Set in the 1940s, Kalank was a film is a period drama and is being directed by Abhishek Varman who has earlier helmed 2 States (2014). Karan Johar's father, the late Yash Johar, was supposed to produce Kalank but the film was shelved after pre-production.

Kalank also marks the collaboration of three biggest production houses of Bollywood including Dharma Productions, Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
