Kamal Haasan took centre stage to kick off Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 on Vijay TV along with 15 celebrities. The actor-turned-politician returned to host the show for the third consecutive time.

Fathima Babu, Losliya, Sakshi Agarwal, Madhumitha, Kavin, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Saravanan, Vanitha Vijay Kumar, Cheran, Sherin Shringar, Mohan Vaithya, Tharshan, Sandy, Mugen Rao and Reshma entered the Bigg Boss Tamil house for the next 100 days.

From the stunning interior designs with the Chettinadu architecture to the jail where the contestants will be punished during the tasks, the Bigg Boss house is exquisite and well equipped.

Keeping true to the show's tagline, "This is not just a show, this is our life," thus suggesting that every contestant and their nature is nothing but a reflection of our own self. The Bigg Boss house has been erected in EVP film city, Chennai.

With Tamil Nadu reeling under water crisis, its conservation is the theme of the house. The swimming pool has been kept dry while mirrors bear bathroom are designed in the form of a metro tanker with iron valves instead of traditional taps; an idea to save water. Also drinking water level indicator is provided inside the house to ensure inmates don’t waste much.

Even before the show went on air, controversies around the show have already begun. A plea was filed in the Madras High Court seeking to prevent the show from being broadcast on account of abusive content with the petitioner, advocate K. Suthan, claiming the show used such content to increase TRP ratings while avoiding social responsibility.

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 1 was won by Arav while Riythvika emerged as the winner in the second season, taking home the trophy along with Rs 50 lakh as prize money.

Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 will be telecast every day at 09:30 pm on Vijay TV.
