After six months of intense competition, Salman Ali has been declared as the winner of Indian Idol 10, followed by Ankush Bhardwaj (First Runner-Up) and Neelanjana Ray (Second Runner-Up).

Salman was not only the judge's favourite but every celebrity who used to come on the show used to praise and appreciate him for his performance.

Salman not only clinched the much-coveted trophy but also won a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh and a Datsun Go car. Ankush and Neelanjana were also given a cash prize of Rs 05 lakh each. Nitin Kumar was adjudged as the ace performer of the season.

Apart from Alka Yagnik, Bappi Lahiri, Suresh Wadkar, and Pyarelal Sir, judges Vishal Dadlani, Neha Kakkar and Javed Ali, the cast of Zero comprising of Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma added to the spice quotient of the grand evening.

The gala night was packed with loads of entertaining performances by Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani, Javed Ali and Manish Paul. The evening was also graced by Kiku Sharda who came in to promote his upcoming comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show and Shilpa Shetty and Geeta Kapoor who walked in to announce the beginning of Super Dancer Chapter 3.

Coming back to Salman, well, it was in the year 2011 that Salman had participated in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs (Zee TV) under the guidance of Kailash Kher. Salman Ali who hales from Haryana's Mewat district had emerged as a runner-up in Zee TV's singing reality show and was rewarded Rs 21 lakh by the state government.

His family business is to sing and perform at weddings and functions and his last four generations have been doing the same. Due to his family's financial condition, Salman had to drop out of school and he has gained formal education only till 9th standard.
