Karan Johar is set to host a dating show on Netflix. Yes, you heard this right. The prolific filmmaker is all geared up to host a show that's all about love.
Today, May 25, 2019, on the occasion of Karan 47th birthday, Netflix India announced that Karan Johar he will host a dating show on the platform where he will spread a whole lotta love.
"This is probably not how presents work but on the occasion of his birthday, we've decided to gift ourselves a dating show hosted by Karan Johar. What The Love With Karan Johar, coming to Netflix," read a tweet posted by Netflix India.
A soon as the post surfaced on Netflix's Twitter handle, fans were divided over the announcement. Some even replied to the post by expressing their unhappiness over the upcoming collaboration. While a few watchers were concerned overseeing too much of Karan, others just ruled out the show based on favouritism he has lent to star kids in the past.
Karan, who already has a television talk show Koffee With Karan on Star World, replied to the tweet saying: "Where there's chemistry, there's always a way! Can't wait to join the Netflix India family and spread a whole lotta love!"
Karan made his directorial debut with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998. He later helmed movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Student Of The Year (2012) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). He is now busy putting together Takht, a period drama based in the Mughal era, which will feature an ensemble star cast including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
