It's time to celebrate as Karan Johar turns 47 today, May 25, 2019. KJo, as he is lovingly called, is currently in New York and Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh were the first ones to wish him via social media.
In a career spanning over two decades, Karan Johar has established himself as one of the most prolific directors that we have witnessed in Bollywood history.
Over the years Karan has donned many hats. From being a director to producing films, from hosting award nights to judging reality shows, he has very easily got into each role with a lot of ease.
Recently, in an interview with a leading publication, Karan Johar opened on a lot of topics including mid-life crises and his kids among others. When asked about how he feels as he turned 47, he said that he was very excited about turning 40 as he thought that would be new innings of his life and which it did.
Later, he went and state that a lot of interesting things such as the growth of Dharma Productions and his kids, Roohi and Yash has happened to him after he turned 40. He also added how his kids are the reason why he is not lonely anymore. He concluded his answer by saying that he is quite excited as he has a long list to achieve before he turns 50 and he is also anxious as he thinks he has less time to spend with his kids.
Karan has another reason to celebrate the year - his home banner, Dharma Productions founded by his father, Yash Johar, completes 40 years this year.
On the work front, Karan is currently producing Drive and Brahmastra and is busy putting together Takht, a period drama based in the Mughal era, which will feature an ensemble star cast including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
